on the way to jip by Moon Seungsung

On Friday 15th August, we’ll be screening on the way to jip by artist and filmmaker Moon Seungsung - a poetic journey into memory, belonging, and the spaces we carry with us. Through hand-processed film, sound, and intimate fragments of conversation, Moon explores what it means to return to something that no longer calls us back.

Alongside Moon’s work, we’ll also screen over land flow by Matt Trumfield, a supporting artist whose work echoes the emotional and visual rhythms of Moon’s process. Matt’s film traces water’s movement - its silences, flows, and transformations - inviting us to reflect on what holds, reshapes, or releases us.

Live music will be performed throughout the evening, led by composer Sohee Baek, whose original score helped shape on the way to jip. Her compositions blend traditional Korean rhythms and breath with contemporary textures, transforming sound into memory.

Performers:
Lauren Peck (Saxophone)
Euan Su (Violin)
Seungyeon Lee (Guitar)
Kangsan Lee (Traditional Korean Percussion)
Sohee Baek (Piano)

The night will close with a Q&A with Moon, inviting us into her creative process and reflections.

This event is taking place at Livesy Exchange on Friday 15th August, from 6.30PM to 10PM.

You can get your ticket here - which includes the screenings, live music, a drink, and light refreshments.

We hope you’ll join us to sit together in the in-between.
